Volvo nabs the title once more.
The season opening of the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) Race of France starts with Volvo rolling out the safest of the safe. Volvo’s very own V60 Polestar has been named the World’s Safest WTCC Safety Car (Safe-ity safe, safe).
The WTCC had welcomed Volvo Polestar as a manufacturer back in October 2015, but the welcome is now an official partnership as the WTCC Official Safety Car.
What’s so special?
Equipped with a roll cage, rescue and communication technology, and additional safety equipment, the V60 Polestar safety car will be manned by a driver and observer as the WTCC Safety Car, setting the pace on the racetrack during cautionary periods (racetrack obstructions, poor weather conditions, etc…). Volvo fans and motorsport viewers alike, can now watch the award winning Polestar in action in races all over.
