Safety
The City Safety technology has been updated for the 2020 Volvo XC40. This patented function continuously scans the road for any potential risks involving other moving cars, pedestrians, bicyclists or animals. If there’s an imminent threat of an impact, the brakes will be automatically activated at the appropriate levels. Mounted on the exterior side mirrors, front and rear bumpers, multiple cameras work in sync to generate 360-degree overhead views that are shown on the infotainment screen. The Park Pilot Assist and Assisted Parking Exit are some driving aides that prevent low-speed impacts in parking lots. This Volvo crossover SUV also has various sensors that analyze the driver’s blind spots. Additionally, audible and visual alerts will appear in the instrument cluster when another automobile rapidly approaches from behind. You should also expect other active safety features from previous years, like the Lane Keeping Aid and Active Bending Lights that illuminate meandering roads.
